Our company has been a family owned and operated business for over fifty years.
The late Richard Toner founded the company in 1952 and opened as a union contractor on Broadway in Newport, RI. Richard
performed commercial and residential installations throughout Aquidneck Island and the Newport Naval Base. He continued
to run a small shop until his nephew Frank Toner Sr took over the company in 1978. Frank Sr incorporated the business
and operated a 1-man operation from his home in Middletown, RI for several years until his son's Frank Jr and Scott entered
the family business.
In
1987 the business was moved to 305 Oliphant Lane in Middletown as the business began to expand. In 1996 the business
moved to a larger space at the same address which contained more storage area and a small office. In 1999 Frank Sr retired
and his son's took over as the new owners. Frank Toner Jr is the President and his brother Scott is the Vice President.
Frank Sr remains involved in the business as a part time consultant and estimator.
As we begin the third generation of Toner Electric we look forward to continuing years
of quality workmanship and service.
